Name Meld helps two people choose a baby name together. It is built to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, we don't ask for your email, and the names you save stay on your own device. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means for you.
Who we are
Name Meld is operated by doubleM, its holding company. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean doubleM, which operates from Ontario, Canada. Questions? Email hello@doublem.ca.
The names you save stay with you
When you save a name, it's stored right in your web browser on the device you're using — not sent to us, and not kept on any server we run. We can't see your list. If you want to keep it or share it with your partner, you use a link that carries the list inside the web address itself; opening that link adds the names to that device. Clearing your browser data, or using the “Clear all” button, removes the list.
What we do collect
- Basic usage information — such as the pages that are visited and general, non-identifying device details, collected automatically to keep the site working and secure. We don't use this to identify you.
- Advertising cookies — where ads are shown, third-party vendors use cookies to display them (see “Cookies and advertising” below).
We do not ask for or store your name, email address, or any account details, because Name Meld has no accounts.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we have no saved-names list or email to share in the first place. We share information only when it is necessary to operate the service — for example, with the hosting provider that serves the site — or when we are legally required to do so.
Cookies and advertising
Where ads are shown, third-party vendors — including Google — use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, manage cookies through your browser, and read more about how Google handles data at Google's partner-sites policy.
Your choices
- Add or remove saved names, or clear the whole list, any time — it's all on your device.
- Clear your browser's site data to remove everything Name Meld has stored locally.
- Opt out of personalized ads at Google Ads Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information — just contact us and we'll help.
Children
Name Meld is intended for adults — expecting parents and the people helping them — and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
